During the National Organic Agriculture Board (NOAB) Luzon A Public Consultative Meeting on January 16, 2017, a session was allotted for the public consultation on the draft Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) guidelines.

The activity intends to present the initiatives of the Bureau in drafting guidelines, which will provide assistance to stakeholders interested in establishing a PGS.  Further, the activity aims to provide a venue for discussion that will help gather comments and additional inputs for the improvement of the draft making it more applicable to the Philippine setting.

BAFS presented the 5th draft of the PGS guidelines to the plenary and the draft was reviewed on a per paragraph basis. The discussion was led by Ms. Mary Grace Mandigma, assisted by Mr. Jan Vincent DR. Tecson of the Technical Services Division. Comments and suggestions were sought from the participants and were noted by the BAFS secretariat for the consideration of the Technical Working Group (TWG).
